How accurate are the sensors?

Our sensors deliver professional-grade accuracy: The Bosch BMV080 PM sensor has ±5% accuracy, the Sensirion SCD40 CO₂ sensor has ±5% accuracy, and other environmental sensors (TVOC, Temperature, Humidity, Pressure, Altitude) are within ±10% accuracy range. These are the same quality sensors used in professional monitoring equipment.

Does it work with my device?

Yes! Sense Air Mobile works with ANY device that has a USB-C port: smartphones, tablets, computers, car USB-C ports, and 5V wall plugs. It also works as a standalone portable monitor powered by the included LiPo battery - no connection required!

What's included in the package?

You'll receive: (1) Sense Air Mobile device with ESP32-S3 and 1.47" TFT touchscreen in High Impact ABS case, (1) Nylon carry case, (1) LiPo battery, (2) Bottom cases - one for use without battery and one for use with battery, (1) USB-C charging cable, (1) Quick start instructions, and lifetime access to your personal web dashboard plus iOS & Android apps.

How is it powered?

Sense Air Mobile offers TWO power options: (1) USB-C power from any connected device when battery is not installed, or (2) Built-in rechargeable LiPo battery for standalone portable operation. You choose based on your needs!

Can it be used for medical purposes?

No, Sense Air Mobile is designed for personal environmental monitoring and is not a certified medical device. While many users with respiratory conditions use it to track air quality trends, it should not be used for medical diagnosis or treatment. Always consult your doctor for medical advice.

What's your warranty and return policy?

We offer a 6-month free replacement warranty if our product is defective. This covers manufacturing defects and component failures. Please note: The warranty does not cover misuse, water damage, or physical damage. We stand behind the quality of our product!

When will I receive my Sense Air Mobile?

Early Bird backers (first 500) will receive their rewards in April/May 2026. Standard backers will receive their devices in May/June 2026. We'll provide regular monthly updates on manufacturing progress and shipping status.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We ship worldwide via UPS Saver for a flat rate of $25. Please note that you may be responsible for import duties, taxes, or customs fees in your country. Shipping times vary by location but typically take 5-10 business days for international delivery.

Manufacturing & Timeline

We've completed functional prototypes and are currently in the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) phase with our Taiwan-based contract manufacturer. Our primary challenges involve managing the supply chain for premium components, particularly the Bosch BMV080 sensor and ESP32-S3 processors, which currently have 10-14 week lead times.

Key Challenges:

  • Component Availability: We've secured initial inventory of critical components through multiple distributors. However, global semiconductor shortages could extend lead times. We're maintaining buffer stock and have established relationships with backup suppliers.
  • Dual Power System: Integrating both USB-C and LiPo battery power requires careful power management design. We're working with experienced electrical engineers and conducting extensive testing to ensure seamless switching between power modes.
  • Touchscreen Calibration: Each 1.47" TFT touchscreen requires individual calibration for optimal responsiveness. We're setting up automated calibration stations to maintain quality while meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Battery Safety & Compliance: LiPo batteries require special handling and certifications. We're pursuing all necessary battery safety certifications (UN38.3, IEC62133) which could cause delays if additional testing is required.
  • Software Development: The web dashboard, iOS app, Android app, and widget are in active development. While we're on schedule, App Store/Play Store approval processes can be unpredictable and may require revisions.
  • Case Manufacturing: Producing two different bottom cases (with and without battery compartment) adds complexity to manufacturing. We're working closely with our injection molding partner to ensure consistent quality.
  • International Shipping: Global shipping remains unpredictable with potential customs delays. We've built 4-6 week buffers into delivery estimates and are working with UPS to ensure reliable international delivery.

We maintain weekly communication with all suppliers and manufacturers, and have allocated contingency funds for expedited shipping or component sourcing if delays occur. You'll receive monthly progress updates, and we'll immediately communicate any timeline changes to all backers.
